Job card statuses explained
Statuses tell everyone in the workshop — and you, at a glance from the dashboard — exactly where each job stands.
| Status | Meaning | Use it when… |
|---|---|---|
| Pending | Job logged, work not started | The vehicle has arrived or is booked in |
| In Progress | A mechanic is working on it | Work has actually started |
| Waiting Parts | Work paused for parts | You've ordered a part and the car is waiting |
| Completed | Work finished | The job is done but the customer hasn't collected |
| Delivered | Vehicle returned to customer | The customer has taken the car back |
| Cancelled | Job called off | The customer changed their mind or the job was opened by mistake |
Tips
- Waiting Parts is worth using consistently — it explains to the customer (and your boss) why a car has been sitting for three days.
- Move a job to Completed as soon as work ends, then create the invoice — completed jobs are what the invoice flow picks from.
- Use Cancelled instead of deleting: you keep the history of what was requested.
You can see and filter all jobs by status in Job Cards.
